IndexChex weekly indexing benchmark
Published · By IndexChex
In brief
The IndexChex weekly indexing benchmark measures how its own submission modes perform on recurring URL sets. As of October 2026 it reports four averages: 95%+ indexed within 5 to 10 minutes in instant mode, 85%+ in standard mode, under 2 minutes to first Googlebot crawl, and about 96% index checker accuracy.
Scope
The benchmark is a first-party measurement: IndexChex measures its own submission and checking features and publishes the results here. It is not a cross-vendor test. Readers who want the measurement rules before the numbers should start with the benchmark methodology, which defines every metric and lists the details that are not published.
Four quantities are tracked:
| Quantity | Question it answers | Current average (October 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Instant-mode indexation | What share of instant submissions are indexed within minutes? | 95%+ within 5 to 10 minutes |
| Standard-mode indexation | What share of standard submissions end up indexed? | 85%+ for typical sites, links and citations |
| First crawl time | How long until Googlebot first fetches a submitted URL? | Under 2 minutes, both modes |
| Checker accuracy | How often is an index-check verdict correct? | About 96% |
The two modes
IndexChex sells two submission speeds, and the benchmark measures them separately because they are priced and used differently.
Standard mode costs 1 credit per URL and accepts up to 10,000 URLs per job. Jobs complete within 24 hours. Product documentation describes indexing starting 5 to 12 hours after the job completes, with most indexed URLs appearing 24 to 48 hours after the crawl. The benchmark figure for this mode is the 85%+ rate covered in standard-mode indexing rate.
Instant mode costs 60 credits per URL and accepts up to 1,000 URLs per job. It is meant for pages that need to appear in search the same day, and the benchmark figure is the 95%+ rate within 5 to 10 minutes covered in instant-mode indexing rate.
Drip feed, which spreads a standard job over 1 to 30 days, is a scheduling option on top of standard mode and has no separate published figure.
Cadence and sample
Measurement runs weekly on recurring URL sets. "Recurring" means the sets are reused from week to week rather than drawn fresh, which makes the weekly numbers comparable with each other. The size of those sets, their composition and the week-by-week values have not been published; only the current averages are. The methodology page states this gap explicitly rather than filling it with estimates.
How to read the numbers
- Each figure is an average. A single job can land above or below it. Small jobs in particular can swing widely, because one or two URLs change the percentage a lot.
- The denominators differ. The indexation rates count submitted URLs. Checker accuracy counts check verdicts. First crawl time is a duration, not a share.
- The windows differ. Instant mode is reported inside a 5 to 10 minute window. Standard mode is reported as an end-state rate, which by product documentation is usually settled by day 5. See the indexing timeline.
- Crawling is not indexing. A first crawl in under 2 minutes says Googlebot fetched the page. Whether Google keeps it is a separate decision, discussed in crawl-to-index lag.
- "Typical" matters. The standard rate applies to typical sites, links and citations. Pages blocked by robots.txt, marked noindex, thin or duplicated will index at lower rates under any tool; why indexing rates vary lists the common causes.
What the benchmark does not measure
- Per-URL-type results. No breakdown by link type (guest post, profile, citation, press pickup) or by source-site authority has been published.
- Other vendors. No competitor is run through the same test. Statements other tools make about themselves are collected, with sources, on vendor-published indexing claims, and they are not comparable to these figures without care.
- Ranking effects. Indexation is a precondition for a link to count, not a measure of its value.
- Persistence. The figures describe whether a URL becomes indexed, not whether it stays indexed months later.
- AI answer engines. Being in Google's index is not evidence of citation by ChatGPT or any other assistant.
Using the benchmark
The benchmark is most useful as a planning baseline: how many URLs to expect indexed from a batch, and when to run a verification check. A team that wants evidence specific to its own links should run its own test with the process in how to benchmark an indexer yourself, which can be done with any tool. The current figures are summarised on the observatory home page, and the full product facts sit on the IndexChex specifications page.
FAQ
Who runs the benchmark?
IndexChex runs it on its own product and publishes this site. It is a first-party measurement, not an independent audit, and should be read that way.
How often is it measured?
Weekly, on recurring URL sets. The published figures are averages current as of October 2026.
Does the benchmark break results down by link type?
No. No per-URL-type breakdown, such as guest posts versus profiles versus citations, has been published.
Are the figures guarantees?
No. IndexChex guarantees that Googlebot crawls submitted URLs. Indexing is Google's decision, and the rates are averages across many URLs.
